Welcome to Roots to Fruit Midlands Ltd. home page, on this section of the website you can find links to our different prospectus’s. This will tell you about the horticultural/gardening courses plus qualifications we run. We can teach and train students in horticulture , gardening and countryside skills. Roots to Fruit cater to the needs of amateurs’, as well as those wanting to enter the industry as a profession. We also work with candidates who have unique learning needs such as a disability or a mental health condition.

Free Practical Fruit Tree Pruning Workshop 10/12/2021
Friday 10th December – 1pm till 3pm
An informal 2 hour practical workshop on how to prune fruit trees in our 90 year old heritage orchard at Roots to fruit HQ – 51 Chester Rd, Streetly, Sutton Coldfield, B742HH

Check out the new FREE Roots to Fruit adult learning courses and activities set in the great outdoors funded by the National Lottery Community Fund. They will be delivering courses with multiple outcomes around and the great outdoors, practical skills and through getting closer to nature. They have available a number of courses spread out over 3 days per week that focus on gaining therapy and learning opportunities through horticulture, agriculture, construction and countryside skills. Garden Design and General Gardening Qualification now available as a totally online course

We are running our practical countryside skills level 1 award and certificate completely online. Learn about garden design, plant selection and identification as well as the principles of pests and diseases, lawn care, compost blending and more. You can gain an Ofqual regulated accredited qualification from SEG Awards from the comfort of your own armchair. The course will be delivered using online resources including videos, presentations, email correspondence, face time and online group meetings. Evidence will be assessed through short written questions, projects and brief identification tests.
This course is ideal for absolute beginners, whether you are looking at developing your own garden or looking for basic introduction to a career in gardening it lays the foundation stones for essential gardening skills and knowledge. You might be a training provider, school or college looking for a funded qualification that can be studied online for your students to keep them engaged in education but covid safe, these qualifications are approved by the education and skills funding agency.
