Welcome to Roots to Fruit Midlands Ltd. home page, on this section of the website you can find links to our different and prospectus’s that will tell you about the horticultural and gardening courses plus qualifications we run. We teach and train students in horticulture , gardening and countryside skills. Roots to Fruit cater to the needs of amateurs’, and to those wanting to enter the industry as a profession. We also work with candidates who have unique learning needs such as a disability or a mental health condition. 

Learn how to tell a weed from a plant, how to mow straight stripes into a lawn, sow and germinate seeds as well as so much more. You can also gain a qualification in horticulture/countryside skills that is accredited by SEG awards or the RHS and is regulated by OFQUAL. There are a range of gardening courses avaialble some are short 13 week programme’s and some last up to 2 years. You will be able to study at your own level and pace in a friendly, informal but professional environment. Roots to fruit have a range of lecturers extremely experienced, highly qualified, friendly and approachable.

We are running our practical countryside skills level 1 award and certificate completely online. Learn about garden design, plant selection and identification as well as the principles of pests and diseases, lawn care, compost blending and more. You can gain an Ofqual regulated accredited qualification from SEG Awards from the comfort of your own armchair. The course will be delivered using online resources including videos, presentations, email correspondence, face time and online group meetings. Evidence will be assessed through short written questions, projects and brief identification tests.

This course is ideal for absolute beginners, whether you are looking at developing your own garden or looking for basic introduction to a career in gardening it lays the foundation stones for essential gardening skills and knowledge. You might be a training provider, school or college looking for a funded qualification that can be studied online for your students to keep them engaged in education but covid safe, these qualifications are approved by the education and skills funding agency.
