How to Plant a Basic Hanging Pot

One of the easiest hanging baskets to start with is a ‘hanging pot’. These can be purchased from the internet and from the discount stores like poundland, B&M or hardware stores and local garden centres. You can do this activity with children and you do not need a garden you can hang the pot on a balcony. We will be showing in a video how to create 2 different types of displays: an ornamental container (creating a lovely visual display) and an edible basket (that you will be able to harvest food from).

These are items you need below:

For your flowering /  colourful basket you will need some upright flowering bedding plants and some colourful trailing plants. You also need some multipurpose compost and of course a hanging pot.

For your edible hanging pot you will need a tomato plant (small cherry tomato variety) pea plants or nasturtiums, multipurpose compost and of course a hanging pot.
